Happy New Year!

This post is long overdue. Back in late November 2017, the Appyness team attended the App Promotion Summit (or APS for short) in Berlin, Germany.  From learning about the impact of iOS 11 on App Store Optimization (ASO) strategy to testing out the latest tools for campaign management, ASO research and more, APS was the team's favorite conference of the year.

In the field of mobile, strategy can rapidly evolve, so its ever important that the Appyness team stays up to date with the latest tactics, programs, and networks. Attending conferences like APS not only helps the team increase its collective knowledge, but also adds value as an agency to our Mobile App clients. Appyness is an agency of passionate app marketers - and our mission is to make sure that we're always using the latest technology and tactics to ensure growth success for our clients!

Here are some of the top sessions and programs that we enjoyed at APS Berlin 2017:

  • ASO and iOS 11 - What's working?: This session was one that we were most looking forward to. The introduction of iOS 11 in 2017 not only brought a redesign to the app store - but also added a new subtitle field. Did the subtitle impact ASO? How were rankings impacted for apps in different verticals? These were only a few of the topics that were discussed, but this was our favorite session!
  • Case Study: 5 Things We Learned Growing a Top 10 Education App: We're currently working with an app, Finger Family Adventure, that is in the education space, so this sessions was of particular interest to us.
  • ASO: Your Secret Branding Weapon: Adeline Lee, Director of Product for Clue, delivered a fantastic presentation that focused on branding - particularly for the app store front, as well as for A/B testing app store assets. This is something we love to do at Appyness, especially for the Google Play Store, which makes it very easy to A/B test title, icons, and screenshots.
  • What is the Minimum Viable App Marketing Stack?: This was another great session that focused on the Mobile Growth Stack. Ekaterina Petrakova, ASO Manager at Rock Internet, covered a variety of tools (both FREE and paid!) that can be used by app marketers worldwide.

Overall, APS Berlin might be one of our favorite app marketing conferences ever! Not only were all of the presentations top notch, but it was also a fantastic networking opportunity as well. We met app marketers from all over Europe and in different verticals. We're looking forward to attending APS in New York City this summer and will also return to Berlin in December 2018!
